Day 69 – 10 March 2024
Today I am showing a photo of Brooks Robinson by Sports Illustrated. This photo is from the 1960s. I have never seen another copy of this photo. I am not sure what year (assume early 1960s given the uniform) and any background on the photo. Is anyone familiar with this photo and was it part of a set that Sports Illustrated published? My copy is not in the best shape but would like to add to the PSA Master Set with Brooks Robinson. Please comment.

Recently picked up this Rochester Red Wings "Annual Baseball Dinner" program dated 04/09/81 signed by members of the soon to come "33 inning" team with Cal Ripken Jr. signing on both the front & back...

I know Charlie posted some neat Memorial Stadium signage a couple weeks back. When I found those locker nameplates yesterday tucked away in a closet, I also found this old Esskay concession sign nearby that I obtained (among other things) prior to the demolition:

Misc Comments
Love the hot dog poster. I have so many posters I can’t hang because of space.
The 1981 dinner program is nice. All this signatures…wow! I like the Advocate / HoF programs. Your locker room name plates need to be displayed. You can put them on my wall! I hope Alan chimes in. I really like the SI photo. Would love to know more.

Brooks SI Photo
Alan, thank you. Appreciate your feedback. I do see the similarities . I believe I have the items you are comparing it to. I will keep digging on why SI has their logo on the photo and if others were produced. Take care.

Brooks Robinson 1963 Baseball Monthly Magazine Photo
Day 70 – 11 March 2024
My final photo of Brooks Robinson for a while is from 1963 Baseball Monthly Magazine (M118). I believe there are 88 different photos in this set. Many hall of famers and several Orioles can be found (Barber, Gentile, Hansen, and Brooks). The color of the photo is a little different but I like the Brooks version. I was fortunate to add this photo to the PSA Master Set for Brooks initially with a trimmed copy but later found another and it is the highest graded. My trimmed copy is for sale or trade if anyone is interested.
