I could use a good image of 1981's A sheet if anyone has one - the only one I was able to grab is tilted and with some obstructions.

Can not answer your send away question. For 1981 I have 9 Topps baseball “issues” — base set, traded set, the Team Card sheet, Mets Magic Moments, the Scratch Offs, Stickers, Thirst Break Comics ( mixed sport with 20 baseball related), the Giant Photo cards which involved 102 players from 10 teams, and the National 5x7 photos ( 15 cards, 10 with same photos as the Giant Photo cards but different backs and 5 unique players). The Giant Photo cards were marketed 1 to a pack in areas around the 10 teams depicted. The National 5x7s were marketed in areas not covered by the 10 teams in the Giant set. I know you could get the entire Giant set by mail. Not sure about the National 5x7s

From 1959 through at least 2005 Topps had Rookie Banquets or Achievement Awards late in that year's season and chose the Rookie Trophy players for the next season's card issue. These were the programs for 1980 (for 1981 cards) and 1981 ( for 1982 cards)

Not sure whether this has been discussed on these boards or not - but, from 1979-1986 Topps did not include trophies on the cards of the previous season's Rookie All Stars, even though Topps kept the awards going all through these years.
Any thoughts on why? It was their own promotion - doesn't seem to make any sense. |

Good question. I have Rookie Banquet programs from 59 to 66. Nothing from 67 to 77. Then I have Topps Achievement Award programs for 78 to 2004 ( minus anything for 2003). Have not seen anything post 2004. They are all numbered consecutively from 1959. In 1960 there was a pack insert allowing purchasers to vote

to your 1981 web site page
Pedro Guerrero was on a 3-player rookie card in 1979 and thus the 1981 card was not his 1st appearance on a Topps card Regards Rich

Yep - correction being made. Interestingly I already have Guerrero properly listed on my 1979 page.
