Joe's thoughts are in line with mine, as to the distinction between World's Champions vs Pennant Winner. Winning the league made you a Pennant Winner. The two Pennant winners meet in the World Series to decide the World Championship. I think that item, no matter when it was printed and distributed, is about the 1934 team.
Luke Hamlin pitched for the 1934 Tigers. He was not in the majors in 1935; he was in AA Milwaukee the entire season. AND, I think that Willis in the top row, second from left is Icehouse Wilson. George Wilson played only one season in professional baseball, 1934; only 1 major league at bat. Last edited by FrankWakefield; 04-28-2024 at 11:02 AM. Reason: adding Icehouse Wilson line. |
