Whether it's a sound strategy or not.......I do not honestly know. It is angering however.

I haven't had it happen to me in awhile....but I also am not running as many auctions as I used to. It used to be frustratingly common.
I have never canceled my bids. I have hit the add $1 more option 20-30 times in a row to make it look like I am bumping up the price.

Items with a lot of bids on them become "hot" and ebay increases their chances of being seen in search results, though.

LOL, I never said it worked.

The few times I have tried it I honestly don't think it made a difference.
