Nice group Andy. I think E98 cards are fun to gather in an assortment of background colors...your near set has a nice kaleidoscope look. On the other hand, the one color look is also cool. Here are four Blue cards, with one identified as Brown. Brian (Unlike the Cy/Irv card, this "Miner" is actually Mordecai) edit: Just realized I posted these cards ten years ago previously on this thread. Go me! Beautiful set Andy. John, good question, you won't find a Red Cobb 3 from BSF. When I was putting together my Master I collected original circulation only because I wanted to experience putting together a pre BSF set. It really is two different sets, all the BSF is high grade, original circulation is like collecting any other E set. To me your Cobb is more valuable, but I value oc cards more than BSF, your particular card is more rare than a E98 Red Cobb in an 8 or 9. It's a weird dynamic caused by the find. If you ever want to move your card let me know. |

Jerry, Great set man. Would love a chance to talk about that blue Ford if you're interested in letting it go to replace my red one. I'd much rather have a blue one in my set. You really have some nice raw cards mixed in there. Andy .

| Adding Old Puts to the mix

Love seeing all these e98's! Had a great win at Auction last night... was the fortunate winner of maybe a unique card... 'the' orange Davis Old Put. I'm excited to have these unique guys and to continue to see the variations in the set... Im enjoying aiming at the 4-color runs, plus an odd-ball (matching e93 or e97.. or strange color add) for sets of '5'... Ill post some here... thanks everyone that has continued to make this a fun pursuit! In the final pic, the center Orange Dooin is an e93 front (although not 100% sure of why its not an e98)... but it has an upside down e97 back! |
