Default 1952 topps

No humor inplied with Bartirome. He is worth more then some HOFers from this set and is a prime key in the high numbers. The "ballpark" will be set by the offers. When I get one I am confortable I will take it. I am not breaking up the collection. If this does not sell, I will simply keep it. Here is the Campy.

The value really depends heavily on the grades of the key HOFers and obviously the high numbers in the set.

The Mays would likely be a 1.5 and is the most valuable card you have in the set.

Waiting on offers will likely only yield low balls or none at all.

Your best chance to sell is to put a number that you are comfortable with for the set and see if you get any interested buyers.

It would cost too much and it would be too much trouble to grade. All collectables are worth what someone is willing to pay for it. No one is shy here. If it does not sell, that is OK too.

Yes, I understand about the Bartirome being valuable, and I wasn't insulting. I just think it's funny that in 2024, of all the incredible stars in that set, that card is so valuable. I thought you were being serious/humorous at the same time.

LOVE the Campy btw. good luck!

How much would appraise the Campy card?

A VG 3 sells for around $1500 based on VCP prices. Yours is in that grade range of 2-3 IMO.

Even though I have stated I do not want to break up the collection, I have been getting a LOT of attention for the Mays.

I would part with the Mays in a trade for a 1951 Bowman Mantle. That is the last card I need for that set.

For those who want jump on my regarding values, that is relative. It is what I need vs. what you need. As long as both parties are happy with a trade that is all that counts.

I have also been getting a lot of mesages regarding my "ballpark" figure. I was thinking 60K. I have seen complete raw 1952 Topps sets in vg go fo 3 figures.

Your best bet would likely be to consign the ‘52 set to a major auction house and use part of the proceeds to buy a Mantle for the ‘51 Bowman set. The auction house will get the better cards graded at a reasonable price and would sell those cards individually and would lot up the rest in probably a low number raw lot and a high number raw lot. You can probably get a zero consignment rate. You will get whatever the best value is for the set by doing that. I doubt $60K is possible but if you cannot complete the ‘52 Topps set which would cost probably $60K more to complete in VG you could capitalize on the partial set and complete the Bowman set with a lot of spare cash.
