Unfortunately Fred passed. He certainly gave Blackless cards a lot of publicity. I keep a lot of his write ups with my set

He was also a good early source for Topps 85 Minis

Just saw this, sad to hear about Fred. He was indeed a salesman of sorts. His ebay listings would come with lengthy description write-ups educating potential buyers of the background and source. I don�t remember getting many minis off him but I do remember getting some 82 Topps �autoless� off of him. The cards had their black borders, just missing the facsimile auto only.
