So, you still gotta' be careful where you hang this thing up. You don't want it near a big window or in a room with strong lighting. Last edited by samosa4u; 07-23-2024 at 10:01 PM. |

It's in my basement with canned lighting, nothing too close Well, I've been to double digit Nationals and I was still shocked at how over priced a lot of stuff was today... $5200 for a PSA 1.5 On Shoulder was probably my personal favorite, I asked him again if he said 5 2 0 0 and he said "yeah, it's a 1.5, but it has great eye appeal"..... Okey dokey... What's the point in grading then... Not sure I'll be coming home with another Cobb, but I still have maybe 30% of the show to check out tomorrow (Thursday)... |

I know this is a card forum, but I recommend an original Cobb photo or ephemera type item. I prefer to own something one of a kind (or close to it) than something as common as a T206 Cobb. I think you can get a cool Cobb photo for less than a card from the same era (and sometimes significantly less). I have attached some Cobb photos from my collection (not for sale). I did not pay much for any of these (less than 100 for two of them and around 200 for the three snapshots together from 1918). I bought them in the last 10-15 years. Good luck with the hunt! Alan |

I was able to pick up a very nice SGC 1 Cobb Off Shoulder today. The only one I will not be going home with is the On Shoulder, so the search continues... |

Now that I'm back home, thought I would share a picture of the Cobb Off Shoulder I picked up at The National. There's a small crease about halfway through the card which is only noticeable when you you tilt it a certain way and some paper loss on the back. But being that it's gonna be going into the frame, nobody is going to see the back anyway Still need an "on shoulder" if anybody has one.... Last edited by jmarascojr; 07-27-2024 at 08:47 AM. |
