I thought it was great the Dodgers won it all the same month Valenzuela passed. Many of us probably remember Fernando-mania very well! And his unlikely no-hitter late in this career.

Yankees shot themselves in the foot, multiple times but the Dodgers were the better team. For the life of me I don't understand how in game 1, Boone decided bring in Nestor Cortes, who hadn't thrown an inning in months. Furthermore they just gave away the game last night. Up 5-0, and made some careless moves. Onto the next year!

Well, I tried my best to conjure up the spirits of all my baseball heroes of the past to help this current Yankees team...Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle. But even they couldn't do it. Congratulations!

Those two buffoons in the stands . . . .

Yankee fans I know trying to justify their conduct. Like this goes on all the time. 50 years never once saw someone try to pry the glove off someone's hand while a friend pins the guy's arm to the wall.

"This is the area I patrol...."

Pathetic. Should be banned for life.

And then I'm asked "why do people hate Yankee fans so much?"

+1. Very happy to see the Dodgers win AND especially the Yankees lose. Dodgers played really great baseball for the most part. Deserved it.

Horrible behavior by those idiots.

Sadly Dodgers fans don't set a high moral bar, either.
https://sports.yahoo.com/dodgers-fan...010253248.html

"I didn't say anything," Profar continued. "I had to fight with them to catch the ball. They were hitting my glove."

Yankees were 54-49 since June 1. Remarkably bad for a World Series contender. Without Stanton's heroics, they don't even get past Cleveland in the ALCS. And what a wasted WS performance by Cole: 12+ innings, 1 ER.

Those 2 idiots made Philly fans behavior seem mild in comparison, if at least for 1 day.

Yanks fan here, but it was definitely a fitting tribute to Fernando. I remember Fernandomania well.

I was 10 years old, excited every time I pulled a Fernando (or "Fernand") card from a pack. What was Donruss thinking not putting him in their set?

Then he killed it for them in the Playoffs and beat the Yanks in a nail-biter of a Game 3 when he didn't have his best stuff, but still hung in there for a Complete Game win, while throwing 147 pitches, shutting the Yankees down from innings 4 through 9.

We were there for both Games 1 and 2, and these were the thrills of a lifetime. Would have lost some of its glitter if they found hadn't found a way to win the whole enchilada. The Dodgers played very clean (but not perfect baseball) all 5 games, and it looked the Yankees were each trying to do to much (hence the mental and physical errors). I think the Dodgers postseason experience (both good and bad) certainly helped them.

And to all the Dodger haters:

"They not like us"

Rick

So this guy had one homer in the 2022 postseason, zero homers in 2023, and then this year zero homers against the Padres, zero against the Mets and suddenly hits four in the World Series ??? Doesn't sound normal to me ...

He had more RBI's in 5 games than any Dodger in WS history. That is crazy to think about all the Dodger greats that he beat out.
