No, all teams were not represented. Kyle can probably give you who is exactly known. Mainly east coast teams.

This is about as compete as you’ll find in one place. Mark has some very nice examples in his collection.

These pennants are very very rare.

I was just reading Kyle’s blog about the “B.B.C. series”….Kyle feels all 16 teams were probably made but it’s impossible to say since so few have survived.

I'd be shocked to see some teams turn up, and truly believe that they were never manufactured for many teams.

I've been collecting pennants for 50 years, and have never seen a "BBC" Phillies, Pirates, Highlanders, Naps, Dodgers, Braves, Cardinals, White Sox, Browns, Tigers or Reds (which I would kill for). In fact, I have never seen an oversized Reds Pennant, period.

Maybe the "Dooin's Daisies" was a BBC Pennant (can't recall for sure), but if anyone can provide images of the pennants listed above, please do!

Dooin's Daisies was indeed part of the BBC Series, so there IS a Phillies. Scroll down and you can see it on this link...

Here's a nice Phillies you don't see every day. Sold for a cool $13K in 2017. Not even oversized.

What's the significance of the decapitated head? Pair of balls?

Dated pennants and especially World Series pennants always seem to command a crazy-high premium. Certainly appears to have been the case here.

As for the significance of the creepy severed head.... no idea. Was it described in the auction's write-up? I forget who had that one... most likely REA, Hunts, Lelands or Mastro.

FWIW, this Phillies pennant was likely manufactured by The Reproduction Co. as well, probably around the same time period as the B.B.C. offering, ca. 1910-14.

Here's two more that seem to match your pennant, Mark. All featured rich polychromatic artwork uniquely created for each team. The cub artwork is the mirror image of "Bear with bat," which was copyrighted by Repco in 1910 and featured on other Cubs pennants from that era, as seen in the final picture below.

Are there any other known examples from this "horizontal bat series" out there?

It was REA. They described it as a portrait image of Phillies manager Pat Moran. Weird that they placed William Penn's hand on top of it so it looks like he's carrying a severed head ala Kathy Griffin.

Just noticed too...The makers hid a bat behind Penn. It's peeking out from between his shins. Why not make that more prominent?

Here it is… already framed! Tough to get a good photo, as it’s a long, skinny bastard. Super interesting that it’s the same maker as Rick’s Red Sox pennant pictured in post 647. Same exact long bat with team mascot positioned to the left.

And I doubt if there has ever been a show he set up at in the last several decades where he didn't have the best selection of pennants and pinbacks, including every National.
