LS had a problem with the finish cracking on their bats for a few years.

You often see finish cracking on Rawlings bats of around the later 90s and into the 2000s. Sometimes it happens on a Louisville Slugger but far less common. As for a particular bat, someone who has handled a good many bats should be able to tell though that may relate more to the general look overall than seeing a tiny little section of it.
