After the Reds acquired Griffey over the winter, following their successful 1999 campaign, the 2000 season was a disappointment. It was the start of a decade of mediocrity. Griffey never lived up to his hype in a Reds uniform, and Larkin was oft injured.

I have very few Pacific cards as they just aren't my thing. But interestingly, one of the few I have is that exact same parallel.



And just as interesting, the next card I had queued up to share was also a Pacific card.
