Not really. Fanatics gets 10-20%, then the IRS and California take their share. He may end up with 500k.

Hopefully he buys in some mutual funds at 5% and by the time he is 21 will have a nice nest egg.

Agree. He should be able to find something that will bring ~10% per year and be a millionaire before he is 21.
