That makes sense. It looks like the “ring” is the same color as the background that we can barely see, outside the holder. The pin/clasp is different, though.

Rob I have seen them both with that pin clasp locking hoop and the straight pin.. like i said it just appears to look like a rim but I believe its just the reflection from the plastic coin holder making it look that way...
