Kudos I guess for the NFL to turn this into an event. Or something.
+1 anything to turn a buck

I'm happy with the Giant's first round but wonder, did they really have to give up draft capital to move up 9 spots to get Dart? I don't think many teams had him as the 2nd QB off the board.

I think they were worried the Browns might take him at the top of the 2nd round, instead of Sanders. Dart had moved past Sanders on most draft boards I saw.

Sanders apparently interviewed horribly with everybody, including Tomlin I guess, who had somehow convinced everybody that HE was going to take Sanders...but didn't.

It's the only thing that makes sense, since the Browns were they only team drafting between #25 and their next pick, that even remotely needed a QB.

QB purgatory for at least another year, before we'll see if Dart's going to pan out.

D-Line should be amazing, if this group stays healthy though.

The NFL and NBA drafts deserve the attention they get. Why is it exciting to watch? Because the guy who gets picked in the first round is going to step onto your active roster in a few months. Fans get excited about that kind of thing.

Good, so I don't have to watch tonight or Saturday. The Packers' picks will be displayed online in a timely fashion. Any upcoming drama I will not mind missing.

The first night is the hype night for live audiences. I'm not saying there aren't good players left that will be exciting to see on your team too. But I'm not surprised people are excited to watch the first round.

Kyle McCord will be one of the future top QB’s. Cant wait to see who selects him.

Bingo.

The hockey and baseball drafts can never compare as it is years before they will play for your team if they even do. These drafts have instant impact, good or bad.

+1. I think football is fundamentally won by the lines, and Giants should have one of the best D-Lines next year. I wish they could figure out the offensive line. I can't remember the last time the Giants had a serviceable offensive line.

Jeez, has a player, particularly a QB, ever fallen so far past where they were expected to go between the end of the college season and the day of the draft, without suffering a major injury or committing a serious crime?

Browns ended up taking a QB ESPN had ranked 10th at his position and 217th Overall, instead of taking Sanders.

Yeah, I wonder if the NFL teams actually think he's not good enough talent-wise or if they just don't want to deal with Neon Deion and the media circus that will surround him.

I get the sense that NFL team owners are more conservative generally than those in say the MLB and the NBA.

I'm not saying he's Liangelo Ball but he was hyped into oblivion by his own father. This is all Deion's fault. Some people can never let their son be an individual. If he was anyone else he'd be happy to be selected at all. But because he has a circus around him he's seen as a failure now because he didn't go in the first round. Why would a father want to hang something like that around their own son's neck?

If my son called me up and said "Dad, I just got drafted in the fourth found," my first word to him would be congratulations. I'm not sure that word will be the first one on Deion's mind.

I think they may be getting Johnny Manziel flashbacks from him.

Different styles of play, but great college players in the right system, with a lack of maturity and preparation that doesn't bode well for the next level.

Of course, Manziel also had several issues off the field that impacted his play at the next level, that I don't think Sanders has, or at least I'm not aware of them, if they exist.

Sanders is basically a pocket QB who gets sacked a lot. If he doesn't learn to read his progressions and get the ball out faster, he's going to get pancaked at the next level, unless he inherits a lights out Offensive line right away.

Short term, Sanders is going to make a lot less money on his rookie contract, then he thought he was going to make, but in the long run, maybe it's the best thing that could happen to him. Pressure will be off him to be great right away, and maybe he can learn to be in a system where his father isn't his guardian angel and hype man.

There is still the possibility he becomes an absolute steal for whatever team finally drafts him.
