My face to face encounters with Dan were at the Reading, PA show where he usually set up with his father and his father's friend. Friendly, always tried to help with a want or a sale.

In the interview posted on this thread, Dan mentions when in Chicago he prefers Gibson's Steakhouse. One National I was invited to a dinner at Gibson's. My seatmate leaned over to me and said: "at least two collectors at this table have two Wagners each." Myself, I had ordered the cheapest entry on the menu, and eased up on showing my Sam Thompson cabinet for which I had paid only 5K.
