It doesn't really matter if Mike Trout never wins a World Series

Forget about winning a World Series !! The guy only made the post-season once his entire-career !

And his contract is probably the worst in MLB history. His body started breaking down the moment he signed it. He's just going to keep playing 30 - 50 games each season so he can continue to collect his money.

I'm voting for Stephen Strasburg's contract being worse than Trout's. 7 years/$245M for 31 innings pitched. Trout has had 2 decent seasons since he signed his massive contract so he's already way ahead of Strasburg.

I don’t know what his contact says specifically but baseball contracts generally don’t require he play any games to collect the money.

In Houston, Trout was playing right field, and a ball went into the edge of the stands. The fan appeared to rip the ball out of Trout's glove, although it wasn't interference because the ball was over the line. After the game, at his request, Trout meets with the fan and his kid and signs the ball for them, and has a nice chat. There are countless pictures online of Trout with groups of kids. Complete class act. There is nothing bad to say about him.

This is just a diversion thread, that's all it is. Angels did not give him a 12-year 430M contract to sign balls for kids and to help grandmas cross the street! He should just retire (and give the Angels back some of that money) instead of making this shitshow go on for another six more years.

If you want to talk bad Angels contracts, Anthony Rendon's is a lot worse than Trout's. He's making $35M a year and hasn't played more than 58 games in a season. Also, from some of his comments, it doesn't sound like he's that interested in playing. At least Trout wants to play when he's healthy.
