eBay trying to remove sniping

I had a new one happen last night. I also snipe but do it manually. When I went to put in my bid I got a popup saying I needed to set up payment details IF I won. It had 2 options, one was eBay automatically charging you 1 hour after the auction or 7 days after the auction. Luckily I had time to click on it and still bid. I won the auction and then it gave me the option for eBay to charge me in the 1 hour option I chose or pay now. It was the first time I have seen this. I only see items I HAVE to have once every year or two and this was one of those items I HAD to have and would have paid several times comps to own so I was extremely frustrated for a few seconds.

I got that a few months ago. I think as they roll out their automatic payment settings, everyone will eventually get that message and have to choose their setting. I haven't gotten that message since setting it up the first time.

Are we saying we have to pay for these things?

I would love to see the % of non-payers on eBay vs traditional auction houses.

Amazing nobody posted about it. With all the people that think eBay is like Amazon and everything should be done instantly or they freak out. You would think the 7 day option would have caused serious hissy fits by now.
