One of my favorites was when I emailed the library in an extremely small town. The reply was priceless. "I'm actually sitting right next to his granddaughter. She works here!" I ended up befriending this player's entire family, including his last living son. This player died even before your GGGF, so you just never know.

I'm an amateur genealogist, and have an Ancestry.com subscription. I've looked up your g-grandfather, and have found a listing in the Louisiana Statewide Death Index for a "Sebrun J Boales", who died 16 Mar 1955, in Ouachita, Louisiana, USA. It doesn't give any further information, but it may help find the actual death certificate. Also, I found his obituary in the March 24, 1955 Farmerville, LA Gazette. It mentions that he died in a Monroe, LA hosptial, and that the funeral arrangements were made by the Kilpatrick Funeral Home. I found Kilpatrick Funeral Homes in West Monroe, LA on google. You might give them a call to see if they still have their records from 1955, and can help. Steve

That is 100% him (spelled incorrectly) and the correct day/year of his passing. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you doing that for me . I will google and call that funeral home tomorrow. I’ll report back in this thread Thank you ! |
