Saw this on the last day of auction and thought was pretty cool because of the newspaper article.
Mantle, 17 years old, and his Whiz Kids played against Parsons where I'm originally from. June 2 1949 and might be my earliest Mantle piece. From collection of Steven Lane who looks to have written a pretty good Mantle book entitled "Mickey Mantle A Life in Memorabilia"

not a new pickup...and I'm sure it's in this thread somewhere!!!! But after being told by numerous advanced collectors, this was fake... VINDICATION!!!!! I had another I sold at the natty and I ran into a guy who saw this one in my showcase and said he had one and that SGC graded it...I was shocked!!!!!! A cool, unusual HI variation.
