Default Worst Attempt Ever At Faking Babe Ruth Written Letter and Signature

Reached out to the seller, making them aware that this letter is fake (worst fake attempt I've ever seen). Provided them examples of authentic letters and autographs, written and signed by Babe Ruth, and was ignored. I'll never understand when sellers are provided solid proof their item is fake, that they will just ignore you, and continue to run the auction.

Really? You'll never understand it? I'm pretty generous in my assessment of my fellow man but, through his lack of response, he's basically telling you he's trying to rip people off.

Did it ever occur to you that this may be a legitimate Babe Ruth signature? Just not the baseball player Babe Ruth.

Seller ended the auction. I thanked them for doing the right thing.

As a preface, I know next to nothing about autographs.

Having said that, I'll share a memory. I was at the Hall of Fame roughly 15 years ago. Among their many items, they had on display a Babe Ruth autograph from (I believe) the day before he died. Despite his condition, the writing was clear and recognizable.

So, the seller's mention of Babe having cancer seemed completely irrelevant.

Long story short: that thing even looked fake to my eyes.
