From what I’ve seen lately, one could say the same about most YouTube sports card content creators.

I couldn't watch the whole extended speculation fest, but it seems to be because it lost money.

...as if having the NYT, CNN, and other media outlets writing about your event for a week+ and why it exists is somehow less important than people buying tickets to go to an event and turning a profit...along with every celebrity they over-booked slamming ads/notification out on their social media for weeks/months.

These guys are supposed financial card market insiders that only seem to understand "money in" vs "money out" in transactional situations.

Fanatics Fest is not, at the moment, from what I can gather, designed to be a money-making venture for Fanatics. Instead, it's a publicity machine to further get their name out to the wider audience. And when you are as profitable as Fanatics appears to be, you can do events such as this to increase your reach even more. Getting your name to the NYT, CNN and everything else has a benefit above just $$ and Cents.

Received a coupon in email from PSA with a code for $100 off on 10 cards or $50 off on 5 cards.

So they definitely trying to grab as much cash as possible before they turn out the lights.
