Is it skinned and re-glued to be fixed? Because it looks like the top edge juts out from behind like it's been rebacked.

John I think you are right. I didn't notice it until you mentioned that. But especially looking at the back pf the card. Fooled me. Thanks for the reply!

I love cards like this people went to effort to 'fix' or improve to make up for a manufacturers mistake.

fooled me Greg! More than once I've noticed things after scanning and posting that weren't seen in hand.

You're right, it does sort of look like that, but my question is, why would someone go to that much trouble - time, labor, etc. - for this card? What would be the point? To create an "error corrected" card? Doesn't figure.

Kid in 1955 with OCD? May not have been any profit motive, just someone who didn't know it would be corrected in the series when card #208 came out.

Neat Find!
I think this is a known error, unless I'm missing something - https://www.psacard.com/cardfacts/ba...-back-48/43977 |

Yes, the OP is showing known errors...the #204 card has both Bolling backs also. Don and Ernie Johnson's backs can be found with their backs swapped too.
Below is an actual peel and re-glue I found recently. |

For those still confused. There are 4 different "Bolling" cards in the 55 Bowman set.
The light wood Red Sox (one bat) card, #48, has both a Milt (correct) back and a Frank (error) back. The dark wood Tigers (two bat) card, #204, has both a Frank (correct) back and a Milt (error) back. If you have a light wood one bat card with #204 on the back, this is a created card and not an error. If you have a dark wood two bat card with #48 on the back, this is also a created card and not an error. |

Hey John, I guess I have missed some advances in the card counterfeiting industry. How exactly is "skinning" accomplished? Is there a high-tech device that can precisely remove the front half of a card? That is, peeling off the front without damaging it? I would like to see that process taking place. Puzzled.
