I just signed on to update this thread and I see that Leon beat me to it.
Yes, the buyer reached out to Leon and me, and assured me he did not offer above the seller's asking price, which he agreed would be unethical. I told him I would post this update, so that everyone would understand this speculation was inaccurate. As Leon said, there are three sides to every story. Bottom line, this situation is resolved. All's well that ends well.
