The difference is, I know what to do if someone is being assaulted on the street. And my actions will directly lead to a change.
With shilling, aside from posting a strident rant here, and avoiding a whole lot of venues, there’s not much I can do. And even that action doesn’t really result in any change. So it seems a bit of a hopeless business in terms of taking action and expecting for that action to make a difference, short of starting my own platform to show to the world how it should be done. And even that doesn’t seem likely to really result in much of a change, other than to give everyone another solid venue in addition to the small handful that we already know are solid.
