Sorry if these threads sometimes go off on tangents. I just posted about Colgan Chips to address a previous post, and provide an example of how the thinner card stock gets holdered differently by SGC now.

The aforementioned Cabinet Card should turn out beautifully, and SGC is still the best option for vintage cards (of what we've been given).

I think that one looks very nice, aesthetically. Newer SGC holder, but it was holdered right and shouldn't move around in the slab. Guessing it has some significant back damage, as it presents great for a "1".

Getting back to the purpose of the original post, my 6-card SGC order (mostly $15 per card) arrived yesterday, just under two months from my date of shipping it.

Mine too from 10/25

Also, they took a week to respond to my email which is unlike them.

Nearly 2/3 of that is Pokemon. Can you post the numbers for just sports card submissions?

My submission was delivered to SGC on 10/23 and marked as received on 10/29.

(18) card basic order - nothing out of the ordinary.

No updates and seems like it may be another week at least based on everyone else's updates.

I had a 10-21-25 received, which was graded on 11-21-25 and back on 12-1-25. SGC never updated the status, went from received to graded.

1 card order; arrived at SGC 10/25; marked as Received 11/15, where apparently it'll reside until early 2026.

Seems like many many SGC orders re taking a while.

For those waiting, will you continue to grade with SGC?

PSA is worse and in my opinion, none of the other grading companies are relevant enough in pre-war.

Yes. I will and have continued to use SGC.
I do like CGC as well and have used them, but after my last 2 subs with them found myself leaning back to SGC

Just had a submission order pop from SGC
2 dozen cards, all odd ball w/ boxing, Olympics & non-sport
all were graded & all in their proper gasket.

I placed the order & paid on 9/24
They marked rec'd on 10/06
Stated they were graded & in processing on 11/25
& today I saw the grades & my order is ready to ship.
Should arrive some time next week, so it will be roughly
10 weeks from door to door

My order that was received on 10/1 was just shipped back. All in all, will be a little over two months for me. While the post-grading/slabbing time has been a bear for me lately, this time that was done very quickly. Within about a day. I sent two emails asking about status checks and that may have helped.

The thing that was very frustrating is that, as others have said, they appear to no longer grade cards they've happily graded before. Two are coming back as cards they 'Cannot' grade and two are coming back as cards they 'Will not' grade. Not with the counterfeit label -- just cards they will not grade.

One of those is a 1925 Dominion Chocolate card, a pretty basic issue where they've graded nearly 200 in total. It is certainly authentic and simply a card in the checklist that they have not graded.

I have seen other people having this problem. Are they really not grading cards from sets if they haven't graded that specific one in the set anymore?

Edited to Add: I wonder if this is simply a problem with the mat size, as these are narrow and might require a custom cut, that they simply are not willing to do anymore (another dumb reason not to grade a card).

If it’s a card issue that PSA has typically not graded in the past, SGC will now return ungraded for that reason. Silly but true.
