Default Secret Santa Signups and Schedule!
Folks:

Sorry for the delay in getting this to you. I had totally forgotten about this.

Let's do this in simple terms

SIGNUPS:

Beginning IMMEDIATELY AND running through December 5th.

you can sign up on the board but when I need from you all is your name, address and collecting interest

Assigning your Secret Santa: I will do a random org on either 12/6 or 12/7 and then send out emails at that point

SHIPPING

Let's do shopping from 12.8 to 12.14 to allow time for shopping and getting stuff ready for sending to your giftee. Please provide me the shipping # information

This allows 12.15 to 12.24 for stuff to be sent and received by the people

OPENING

Beginning 12.24 at 6 PM EST, one can open their packages and share their gifts with all of the people here who love to watch how well we all treat each other

Agreed Chris, the more options the better. I usually send Rich a spreadsheet of my "want list" that is all over the place.

This event has always been a blast! Looking forward to it. And shout out to Rich for helping plan this!

Sorry for delays in posting. I had an eye issue (you don't really want to hear the details) but let me assure now being able to see is no fun

I'm about 80-90 percent back to normal vision so I should be able to get everything done this weekend.

My eyes have been getting better every day but I'm not yet comfortable with running a reduced Secret Santa event. I've asked Matt G to take it over since he's a whiz at doing this type of work but if he can't handle it, please work to get everything squared away as we have to do the shopping very soon

Sorry for the aggravation, but let me assure you, this has been a real thing for me as well and no fun at all

Hope you feel better soon, Rich. I can relate to how scary and upsetting an eye issue can be. I suffered a detached retina in my left eye in 2022. It was the most upsetting health issue I have ever experienced. I spent back to back 12-hour days at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia before having surgery on Labor Day 2022.

My surgery was largely successful, but I understand that your eyes come first ahead of running Secret Santa this year.

Thank you all for the nice wishes. I basically woke up last Monday blind as a bat. I'm about 80 percent of the way back to normalcy because I have an eye doctor who has in thie file that I can cut the line if needed. for the first time in 20 plus years pf working with him, I used that and he gave me shots in each eye on Tuesday. He hit a blood vessel but that's no long-term damage other than my eye bruised for a few days

I get infusions every 8 weeks which is pretty low maintenance but when we changed insurance providers at work, they denied the remicade which I had been taking for more than a decade. And the Arthritis place showed no real urgency to get me in quickly as they messed up my notes to the extent where they asked if I wanted to come in February. I was so thrilled with that and the several hours with the pharmacy, and the two groups who cover the money these infusions cost, which to be honest, is a lot less than th
e Remicade I'm on,

So thanks to my eye doctor who has been the ONLY medical provider to really move mountains for me, I'm at least closer to normal and took off the last week to get some rest and get better

Oh, I fell here at home about 14 years ago and detached my retina and ended up with cataract surgery after that. I sympathize with anyone who goes through tht.
