Default Thanks a lot, eBay

I recently reported an ebay seller who sells nothing but fake, made up fantasy piece flat lighters. Many are sports related. 90% of this seller's items (1400+) are flat lighters and they are all fake. eBay responded with "The listing you reported has not been removed. This determination was made using automation or artificial intelligence." Of course, the notification came in a "do not reply" email so I can't even have the satisfaction of telling them "thanks for nothing."

Ah, ebay...it's like the abusive partner you just can't quit.

I’ve been “cheating” on eBay and having a long-term affair with other venues. eBay’s juice just ain’t worth the squeeze any longer. Just too much work for very little payoff.

If you’re talking auction houses, my low rent collection can’t afford them

I've never had eBay do anything when I've reported fake items. Ebay has done wonders for my collection, but they've burned up any loyalty I had to them by allowing so many schemers and scammers to operate freely on their platform.

I’m probably stating the obvious, but it seems like as long as eBay gets their cut, they don’t care. The whole “determination made by AI” doesn’t make it any better.
