I agree: related to printing. On a side-note, I occassionally see backs with the similar "overage" quality - but, not from printing. My theory is that they are cards that had been pasted in scrapbooks, etc. and then soaked. Whoever soaked them out did so too long, and a portion of the back "lifted". They then attempted to "reset" the lifted piece, and as it dried and pressed, it either shifted or simply was done very poorly. The result being an effect that looks like multiple backs, or shadowing. I also remember a couple of cards I had a while back that had TWO layers. My theory on this one is that when the card was redistributed, it was disseminated with a different brand and at a different factory, so a second lighter back was applied. I actually have run in to this several times. Anyone else?
