I'm no fan of ebay's business practices, but I heard on the news that the auctions for shuttle disaster "memorabilia" were quickly ended by ebay. I don't think they can be faulted for the fact that these auctions were briefly posted. They do not screen auction listings before they are posted, and I'm not sure how they could, except by hiring thousands of people to check the accuracy or decency of every single posting. |
