Not sure of your question. I think we do need to be a little careful on calling EVERYTHING we see a fake or reprint. . Don't get me wrong I think we do need to question things but look at other factors too. This guy has over 1200 feedbacks and only 1 negative. Even if they were not legit no doubt the seller would make it right... If we look at the total picture we can usually be accurate. From the scans they look ok, albeit sort of ugly, to me....but what do I know? I never claimed to be an expert but have some experience. I still need one of these Fleers for my type set but since they are "w"'s, which I don't collect yet, I have not obtained one. BTW, on Chris' (who can't spell or write for crap) T205 Cobby I am not totally convinced, by the scan, that it's fake. I think the lighting on the white chips "could" have an impact on the "un-authentic" look...either more scans or a personal inspection would be needed before I judge it.........just my 2 cents....regards all

I think these are real, and everything about the seller and the transaction (guarantee) look above board. Interestingly, he is selling a lot of 5 Wally Schangs from this issue, whereas there appears to be only one copy of the others from the set that he has up. Makes me wonder about distribution and sheet makeup if Schangs are indeed so plentiful (although admittedly sample size is small and former collector just may have been a big Schang fan I suppose).

I once found a stash of three '53 Bowmans: one Jack Daniels (yes, that's really his name) and two Mickey Grasso's. What are the odds of that?

Just to chime in on this post, Glen isn't attempting to beguile the intentions or reputation of this seller. As this is an extremely rare issue, I think he just wants the opinion of others on the board who may own one, and what they may have to say about the issue (and why 15 of them are all offered at the same time). Plus, what are the odds of a Fleer Cobb and Ruth being included in the mix?
I own a Fleer (George Sisler), and mine is the only one I've seen offered over the past year. Incidentally, it was auctioned by Mastro about two
years ago. As pointed out prevoiusly, the seller has extremely fine feedback, and does offer great security in his descriptions and scans. Although I don't think there's any doubt of the commons being authentic, I would be somewhat guarded about bidding on the Cobb and Ruth. As this gentleman selling the cards is not a vintage card expert, he may be being misled with these cards himself..you never know. His intentions are definatley not to mislead us, the bidders though.
I was attempting to leave scans of my Fleer card here, but I'm somewhat of an idiot when it comes to doing things on the computer sometimes, and couldn't figure it out. Can someone tell me how I can get a scan on my post?? Thanks...

Glen,
Those are great cards, not in the best condition but a true rarity. I don't doubt the authenticity of the cards. I am sure they will do well.

He has some other "interesting" items from the 1920's up for auction.

Nick

what a find the Ruth was--even in that condition--and everybody should keep it hushed up. They were talking high 3 figures (which i see it's not getting--the ugly thing). Apparently it's a great discovery.

My opinion, which is obviously uninformed, is that it's an ugly card. Period. But i imagine it's valuable--a Fleer, no less!
