Question of authenticity of a seller's cards...

This guy seems to have some amazing stuff, but I'm not convinced of the authenticity of the product.

I believe his item:

is probably authentic.

they're all slabbed in PRO holders (and he very carefully does not mention the grading company in his auctions)- BIG RED FLAG.

PRO is notorious for grading 1) trimmed cards and 2) counterfeits. That doesn't mean everything in a PRO holder fits those categories but I'd be very leary of anyone offering that mean PRO cards at one time.

The trimmed Ruth and Hornsby don't look right at all. He claims they were trimmed by his grandpa, but they show zero wear on the corners.

I also like how he uses the comic/coin grading term Fine in the card descriptions when the slab uses VG/Ex

Thanks again, guys. I had those same red flags going off when I couldn't find the card grader. I'm also rather sceptical (perhaps I shouldn't be) when I'm presented with a large amount of pre-war cards that seem to sell far too low. As a general rule, I would think, these cards would be (if they are authentic) bringing a much higher price even if they are of low grade.

everyone should bid on those PRO graded T205's because I've NEVER, repeat NEVER, seen anything in a PRO holder graded less than 7..................that is truly amazing!
