Most of you have seen this before but from what I can gather, this 1906 V. O. Harmon postcard (which is postmarked between the end of the pennant race and the start of the 1906 World Series between the underdog White Sox and the Cubs) was sent by Anna Busch (nee Anna Anheuser, sister-in-law of Adolphus Busch and daughter of Eberhard Anhauser) to her niece Nellie Anheuser. It reads " These are what all Chicago is raving about" Anna. It seems the Anheuser-Busch families may have had a long standing interest in baseball before the family's purchase of the St. Louis Cardinals. |
