mike h, the early balls were 11 + inches around and there was no manufacturers .since it is large it took 6 pieces to cover it. the only place i saw a six panel was on the 1860s cover of base ball as viewed by a muffin by taber bros. it was an early publication with baseball depictions and on the cover it shows 6 panel balls. |
