They couldn't have been ballplayers in the service because Vern Stephens did not pass his induction physical. He was quite upset about not being able to serve. But I am guessing that they were war year items what with the paper rationing and what I'm guessing as an Army Examiner's checking and approval to make sure no military secrets were given away in the photos. |
