Would anyone here seriously vote him into the hall

Can someone explain to me what he is doing in the Hall of Fame when Jim Rice, Lefty O'Doul, Tony Oliva, and even, say, Steve Garvey and Don Mattingly are not? Not that I think all those guys belong, but looking at Slaughter's numbers he just seems like a pretty good player who made one famous play.
