Why collect cards? Everyone has their own reasons for what they collect, and after reading this board for a few weeks, I can see misgrading, alterations, trimming, stain removals, reprints, etc. plaguing the card business. I don't see how different that is from what is going on in the autograph business. If there is a dishonest buck to be made in any collectible, someone will attempt to figure out a way to do it. Just like in any collectible, if you take the time to study, and buy from the right sources, your collection should build up successfully. |
