Default What Do You Look Like?

Posted By: Julie Vognar

I once had the whole set--minus one. The card I never saw was Chase Safe at Third with Baker. The photo is weird--close=up of two faces. I now have it, but had to sell more than half the set in the '80s, and now have 80 again.

The thing about the high priced cards is, dealers go out of their way to get them, so they don't seem scarce at all. The two Johnsons, Birmingham';s Home Run, the two Devlins with the Giants. And all the Cobs, of course. What I'm having a hard time finding is the "Just Before the Battle" COMMONS. I have all the HOF.

There aren't supposed to be any scarcities except Birmingham's Home Run (which I see everywhere), and the two Devlins with the Giants (Devlin Makes a Safe Slide and Too Late for Devlin). They used to think the Bates-Brecher card was scarce, but the price has returned to common.

I keep my T202s in modern size (comics) Mylar, cut off, or Mylar snugs, which I buy from Mark Macrae, because you have to get them in such large quantities
I couldn't afford them.

When I started re-collecting them, I told myself 1) no creases, 2) no off-center cards) 3) no back damage of any kind. Alas, I have all three, once in a while.

Julie
