There is an audio/video feature on the NY Times web site today by Bill Pennington which features a ticket to a basketball game in 1927 advertising Jim Thorpe. I wasn't able to save a scan of the ticket but if you use the link you can take a look. The ticket was discovered in an old book and is claimed to be one of a kind, and the only evidence that Thorpe played basketball in his later life. It's a nice item in any event and there are several vintage photos of Thorpe that were new to me, including some baseball images. |
