Yes I'm sorry ounce again but these cards are obvious fake. Try to buy cards that are graded by SGC, PSA, or GAI only and you can study the printing styles of pre-war cards. Also Dave Rudd has some very educational books that can help you along the way. cycleback.com Good luck and next time don't jumo in with such high dollar cards. |

start off small and try lower graded commons from the same issues to get a feel for the cards and the looks. BTW these cards are fakes, same with the ones in the other thread. You said these were from an estate sale ? |

But take Zach's advice and buy low-end cards first, so that you know a real one when you see it. |

Boy, someone sure liked rounding off the corners didn't they? They sure did a good job of making them round. Like the other guys say, before going after the big "Guns" start off with less expensive tastes. There are tons of books on cards, that help you learn about pre war items. I have been doing this since I was 5. You shouldn't expect to learn all there is to learn in a day or two. Even after years of doing this, we are all still learning. I learn something new every week. So slow down, and take your time. Besides, you'll save a lot of money if you make yourself more knowledgeable. It's not fun being ripped off. It's happended to all of us. But,these appear to be fakes as well. |

what are the obvious signs that you see from the scan. from the Goudey scan, I couldnt' say either way. It could simply be a real card that was badly trimmed on the corners. |

These scans are so bad that I don't think it is possible to state an opinion. You should send the cards to SGC for a realistic answer. |

I can't tell from the scans whether the corners of the cards are uniformly (and unrealistically) rounded, or whether the inside corners of the holders are rounded? |
