Outrageous shipping- what's a guy to do?

A column in yesterday's Washington Post magazine was about exactly this issue. Seller wanted to charge stupid (unannounced) shipping, buyer was worried about a negative. The author says he wrote to a seller, cancelling the transaction and saying, "Ding me if you want to, but if you do here's what I'm going to say about you." No more was heard about the matter.
