Default since Barry Sloate isn't reading now...

Barry
I'm sure one memory that is still quite clear in your mind....is my 1st contact
with you. In 1983 Barry decided to break up his 1949 Bowman set and adv. in
SCD. I called him to acquire the Richie Ashburn rookie card from his set.

He was excited to hear from me since he had just read my "mystery solving"
article on this 1949 set in the very popular "Baseball Cards" Mag. (Krause Pub.).
That was the start of a great long-term friendship. The BB card deals Barry and
I have transacted over these 23 years are too numerous to tell here.

But, two that come to mind from the mid-80's are noteworthy. First, Barry intro-
duced me to the Goodwin Champions (N162) set, which is my all time favorite
sports card set.
The 2nd story, I think you will find amusing. When I started putting together
my 1st T206 set in the early '80s, Barry made me a $100 bet that it would take
me a least a year to find a DRUM back to go with my set. Just a few months
after that bet, he calls me to tell me he has a DRUM back for me. I says.....
Barry, you just lost your own bet.....he just chuckled.....and my collection of
the 15 basic T206 backs was complete.

That tells you what kind of nice guy Barry is.
