T202s
Posted By: Jeff Lichtman
I've begun collecting T202s and I'm curious as to how the players on the side panels were chosen and why the cards seem to have an unrelated photo in the middle. Any thoughts as to the reasoning behind the makeup of this very unusual and interesting set? |

The players on the end panels are always teammates. Beyond that, I'll leave the rest of the info to Lee, Brian H or others that are more knowledgable |

Jay is right with a few (notable) exceptions the players are teammates. |

when the cards were issued were they honestly meant to be seperated ? , i have found many seperated on ebay before. maybe the mfgs were thinking this also, so then created essentially 2 types within the card. just my thoughts. nice set tho! |

Lee, Jay and Brian, thanks for the info. I find this set to be so peculiar and interesting that I'm surprised that there are no contemporaneous notes or writings about what went into the creation of the set. I think the Cobb Stealing Third card, with Cobb's famous slide in the center panel, one of the most incredible cards I have ever seen. |
