In my opinion, ebay undercut the national in a significant way. Much of the vintage material at the national has previously been on ebay -- sometimes 3 or 4 times. The prices at the national, of course, were higher than the latest ebay price since the dealer who won on ebay is trying to turn a profit. Years ago, the national (or a similar big show) was the only place where you would see most vintage material. But, with ebay, much of the material at the national has been seen before. |
