Sean, just like in organized baseball, some players are not ready to play at the big leagues until they reach certain level of experience.

You are clearly not ready to post here and it looks like you don't want to be ready, maybe because of your age and lack of maturity.

Again, try to STUDY the message board archive, not just speed read it like a magazine.

No need to worry about his ramblings anymore. He's banned. I was correct in my guess of 2-3 days. He repeatedly did what I told him not to do, publicly and privately, on the board. He had more warnings and deleted threads than anyone ever has. This time I told him to come ask me in 6 mos. if he can come back. I hated to do it but had no choice. best regards

Imagine in the old Fullcount board days (this board's predecessor)...there was no deleting, banning, or editing.....even a moderator couldn't do it. What was put on the board stayed on the board. It was truly the virtual worlds wild wild west.....ah, the good ole days And BCD and I really got into it when I told him I didn't think Mello-Mints were so rare.....he blasted me for days....Now I could just zap him (Hi Brian... )

Sean's banishment had to be done. When I was eight years old, I listened and by his age, set up at a small card show selling cards just enough to make enough money to plug in some set holes on my now worthless 1970's sets. Also my grammar wasn't an issue at that age and by eleven, had published a collecting newsletter. This place would be a mess without a little policing and it's good that the moderator cares enough to clean away the riff-raff.

Talk about moderating a board- last weekend I found myself posting on a "Seinfeld" chat board and you should see the foul language that gets thrown around there. Every four letter word you can imagine and nothing gets deleted. And this is a forum for a TV show about nothing. How do these knuckleheads get so worked up recounting the minutiae of each episode? It was rather funny, but I didn't have the patience for it. Just a bunch of overly sarcastic yahoos.

I remember having to remove Adam from our forum just about one year ago today while everyone was at the National in Cleveland. Soon after that, I think he re-surfaced at the Collector's Universe board. Haven't seen or heard of him since.

On a sidenote, Barry - sorry about deleting the thread you were typing a response out too. I've unfortunately had to strike a few like that one lately.

Any of you ever see the Pixar movie The Incredibles (young boy wants to fight crime with Mr. Incredible. Fast forward and the boy ends up being the villian in the movie)? Wouldn't it be funny to see this young man come back here in 10 years and have some desireable items in his collection? His intention was pure but a line must be drawn at some point.

At 11, Sean should have been able to exhibit enough maturity to at least respond to the resquests made by board members. Many of us attempted to put into words what it means to be a collector. Sean, unfortunately, is the poster child for the internet youth generation where minimal effort leads to instant gratification in the form of cheap information. He seemed incapable of absorbing any information or feedback except for superlatives (most expensive, oldest, rarest, etc.). Hopefully he will pick up a few books and return ready to at least appreciate some of the baseball related discussion.

Sean, If you're still able to read these;

You are obviously very smart, excited and enthusiastic about collecting, those are desirable traits.

The old-time ballplayers were extremely proud and passionate about the Game and those that were in it just for the $ weren't favorites of fans nor the other players. I believe something very similar has occured in this Membership. Discussions of card values and profits cheapens those Players' legacy.

Think of this board as a kinda Baseball Card Library. The students remain quiet and absorb as much as they can before posting. You're young and full of energy. Many newer collectors (adults) read and learn from the messages here, but respectfully do not post because they don't have the knowledge yet.

In no time, you'll receive your library card and be a valuable contributer. Have you noticed that kids you've met and disagreed with in-time often became very good friends?..
