Link lost when you edit

A tutorial:

When you edit your post containing a link the link will be lost unless you follow these steps during editing:

1. Always preview your edit. You will note during preview that your link will have a > following it.

2. Go back to edit from preview and remove the >.

3. You may then post your edit and the link will will be restored.

is that in the software for Net 54? Can you change that or is it in all the forums.
