I have to admit that I have NEVER heard of The Philadelphia Olympics Ball Club. Other than the Doubleday myth of 1839, I had always thought that the first organized team was The N.Y. Knickerbockers of 1842. How long have people known of this Olympic team? Certainly wasn't mentioned in Ken Burn's "Baseball" film from 1994. |
