I am currently researching White Sox material pre 1950. Have all of the tobacco info of the WSOX, except for the L1 Leather of Big Ed. I turn 54 on Sunday and hope that one of the many great board members here would make my day...Thanks for your help Dennis

Interviewed for Lawrence Ritter's book The Glory of Their Times, Hall-of-Famer Sam Crawford referred to Walsh's use of a pitch that would later be outlawed: "Big Ed Walsh. Great big, strong, good-looking fellow. He threw a spitball. I think that ball disintegrated on the way to the plate, and the catcher put it back together again. I swear, when it went past the plate, it was just the spit went by."

I believe the Walsh Rookie "Card" is the 1904 W600 Sporting Life Cabinet. Anyone have a scan of that one to show or ever heard of its existance?
