J. C. Romero

Last night J.C. Romero and the Phillies lost to Colorado. With this loss came an end to my situation that could have occured. J. C. Romero started the season and played with the Boston Red Sox. He was released by them and picked up by the Phillies. Suppose he had carried the Phillies through the playoffs and the Red Sox had won in the American League and the two had met in the World Series. Obviously one of those teams would win the World Series and the other would lose. J. C would have been with both during the season. Would he have qualified to get two rings from being in the World Series with both teams? I know that both the winners and losers get a ring. Does anyone know of another player who has been on both the winning and losing team in the same year? |

I think the players collectively vote on who gets a share, or a partial share, of playoff money. I think that the club hands out championship rings, and I don't think Boston would have given Romero one since he was gone... For someone who went down with an injury in August, maybe so, but not someone traded away. |

I remember that Nomar was voted a share in 2004 eventhough he was traded from the Red Sox in mid-season. |

I think a Cub got voted a partial share back in the 30's by the Yankees... I think some guy started with NY, got traded to the Cubs, Yankees won the WS and voted the guy a partial share. Anyone recall such? |

Offhand i know Jim Bruske pitched a handful of games for the Yankees and Padres in 1998 and Lonnie Smith was traded from St Louis to the Royals midseason in 1985 and then hit .333 vs the Cardinals in the W.S. to help the Royals win |
