Probably--ungraded card--poor--good condition--most likely type of card to be trimmed. Send picture to Kevin Saucier(Only Child) and he will offer you an informed opinion. |

Most card doctors don't care to make an extra $5 trimming a card and making it a gd-vg from a fr card. They would rather take cards in ex condition, trim them, send them to PSA and get them slabbed as 8's so Registry folks can buy them.....Ask any doctor...I have......too bad for PSA 8 collectors.....too good for the rest of us.... |

Jim- when you turn a Fair into a Good by trimming it, a $15 card becomes a $20 card. But when you trim an EX to appear NR MT, you might change a $150 card into an $800 one. |

"If you ask informed people in the hobby, they will tell you it is very easy to make a good card very good and a fair card good and a very good card vg-ex. These changes are done under the radar screen and are done all the time. Much more frequently than higher end cards which get the publicity." |

It may be hard to do, but card doctors are very skilled in paper restoration, and given the incentive to make thousands of dollars for a few hours of work, will get it painstakingly right. |

Matt- I for one think Kevin Saucier is just another opinion, not the gospel. He knows his stuff but in the end he will make a judgment call. |

It has bigger borders than most of the PSA 7-8 T206 cards I've seen... |

To me, it is the bottom edge that looks suspect, as the corners appear somewhat bat-eared. On the other hand, there is an unusually large top border that does not appear trimmed, which is a good fact for two reasons: (1) it gives comfort that the narrower bottom border is the original width and (2) it begs the question -- why would someone trim the bottom but not the top when the top has all that extra border? |
